We’ve all been there – showing up to a hotel for the night, and hoping it’s exactly as it was described on the internet. Unfortunately, this isn’t always how it goes. Recently, several people shared stories of their nightmare hotel stays.
1. Extra Guests In The Room
One guest went to check into his room. All looked normal at first, but when they opened their curtains, a man was hiding behind them. It turns out the man had recently committed a robbery and was hiding in the hotel room thanks to a window that had been left open.
2. Room Roulette
In Texas, a hotel was having software issues and their booking system was down. Since they couldn’t tell what rooms were booked, the hotel began checking people into random rooms, and hoping for the best. One guest was given three different hotel rooms, only to find other people already checked in there every time.
3. Locked In The Bathroom
In a unique situation, one hotel had a bathroom that only locked from the outside. Unfortunately, that meant the only way to unlock it was from the outside as well. If you accidentally closed the bathroom door the whole way, it was up to someone on the outside to let you out. If you didn’t have another guest in the hotel room with you, it took a call to the front desk to send someone up to let you out.
4. Blood on the Bed
Upon coming back to their hotel after a long day, one guest pulled back the sheets to find a large bloodstain in the middle of the sheets on the bed. After pulling the sheets back further, they found a puddle on the mattress.
5. Construction Troubles
After settling in for the night, one commenter reported that a late night construction team started some work on the hotel at around 11:00pm. As most people would, they let the front desk know about the issue. Unfortunately, after making the report, the workers simply began talking louder, even taking to banging on the walls of that guest’s room.
6. Surprise Visit
A stay in a vacation rental ended up with a surprise. The guest took an Uber to the house, where they were staying in a guest house next to the main home. Everyone was in for a shock when the owners walked into the guest house, forgetting someone was staying there, and the guest was walking around naked looking for the missing toilet paper.
7. Living Room Stay
One guest’s room didn’t look quite like one would expect. When walking into their room, they found a living room with a sofa, a kitchenete, and several locked doors. But to their surprise – there was no bed. It turns out that somehow the adjoining living room for a suite had been given to them, but without access to the actual bedroom. It took multiple hours of arguing with the front desk to have their room changed to one with a bed.
8. Don’t Go In The Pool
A youth soccer team was winding down after a tournament. The kids went to check out the pool at the end of the day – and discovered a body floating in the pool. The medical report said they had been in the pool about 8 hours.
9. Very Alarming
After a long day, a guest was getting a much needed good nights sleep. However, at around 2am, the alarm clock started going off. To make matters work, hitting the sleep button didn’t stop the beeping. The only way to fix it was unplugging it, but after that length of time, they were wide awake.
10. Did you lose this snake?
A couple had settled into their room at a hostel. It wasn’t the nicest room in the world, but everything seemed as expected. That changed when the manager knocked on the door with a bucket in their hand. It contained a snake. The manager asked “Is this yours? It crawled out of one the pipes here”.
